Full disclaimer is below…
Due to legal legislation and the difficulty we have when selling live cultures online, we have to state that all our products are not for human consumption. This is the only way we are able to sell our products online.
We have never had any ill health complaints due to the consumption of our cultures, in fact everyone here has been drinking kefir daily and we all feel much better for it, however due to legal reasons we must state: the kefir grains we sell are offered not for human consumption.
The cultures we sell are mother cultures. You consume the fermented medium the culture was put in e.g. milk, water, sugar, tea etc… etc.. Legally we also have state that you do not drink the fermented medium either.
Due to further laws and regulations, we do not make any claims to health benefits when using our products. We do not list any on our website.
Our products have been kept and packed to the highest standards of hygiene and every effort has been made to ensure no nuts or seafood has ever been near these cultures. Unfortunately, legally we would like to state that once you receive your items, you should wash the culture and make 1 or 2 batches and throw these batches out. The culture will now have regenerated and therefore anything you do with the resultant cultures has no bearing on us or anything we may sell.
The sale of kefir grains is not accompanied by an express or implied warranty or guarantee of a cure for your health condition, illness or disease. We do not know for certain that kefir will be beneficial for all illnesses as every individual is different.
You claim full responsibility for your decision to consume milk kefir. Because there is always risk involved when consuming live bacteria, we may not be held responsible for any adverse effects or consequences resulting from the use of kefir grains.
Again, we must inform you that the kefir grains we sell are offered not for human consumption as the legalities and exacting standards involved in selling live cultures in the EU make the sale of live bacteria cultures destined for the human food chain almost impossible.
Kefir is not recommended for individuals undergoing chemotherapy treatment or anyone on strong immuno suppressive drugs.
Be careful when using kefir or other fermented food products with medications and always seek medical guidance before proceeding if in any doubt. If you have any health concerns about growing your own kefir we are happy to recommend a store bought probiotic substitute.
Any product drank in excess can be harmful, please drink your kefir responsibly and limit yourself to no more than 300ml per day. Kefir should always be introduced very slowly. Adults should start with 30mls and work up to between 100 – 300ml daily over 3 weeks. Children should start with 1 teaspoon and consume a much lower amount than adults. Kefir is not suitable for children under 1 year of age.
Again, we must state: the kefir grains we sell are offered not for human consumption.
By making a purchase you are agreeing at point of sale to our disclaimer.
