You can make milk kefir…

Making your own Milk Kefir costs significantly less than buying commercially and you have complete control over the quantity and type of milk you use e.g. organic; cow’s milk; sheep’s milk; goat’s milk, raw, etc.

The process of making Milk Kefir is unbelievably simple: Place Milk Kefir Grains into fresh milk and leave to ferment. After 12-48hrs your milk has been transformed into healthful, delicious Kefir and is ready to drink. Transfer your Milk Kefir Grains to fresh batch of milk and repeat the process… indefinitely!

You can make water kefir…

Water kefir is simply sugar-water that is fermented at room temperature with kefir grains for about 24-48 hours. The basic preparation method is to add water kefir grains to a sugary liquid and allow it to ferment 24 to 48 hours.

A typical recipe might contain the kefir grains, a citrus fruit and water. It is important to not use ingredients that will inhibit the fermentation, such as chlorine in tap water or preservatives in dried fruit (sulfites). The fruits used may be changed and mixed to create different flavours. Culturing grains in a glass jar and using clean stainless steel or plastic utensils when handling the grains is recommended.
