Kombucha pH Test Strips – Instant results
Testing the pH at the beginning of your brew is always a good idea to help protect your kombucha from mold and ensure it progresses properly right from the start.
When brewing a new batch of kombucha you should aim to start at 4.5 or below.
Finished kombucha can have a pH anywhere from 2.5-3.5 depending on the stage of the brew.
The strips do not indicate that your brew is ready, only that it is protected and brewing safely. However they are very useful when starting your brew and can give you the confidence knowing your kombucha is in the proper pH range to keep mold and unwanted bacteria out. Taste and personal preference will indicate if the brew is complete.
The very best method is to test your brew at day 1 and again at day 7.
Full instructions and troubleshooting pH are printed on the front and back of the color chart included with the test strips.
