Our heirloom grains are harvested fresh and shipped in a protective, nutrient rich liquid starter. This specialised packaging keeps the microbial colony in a “slow metabolic” state, ensuring they remain 100% viable for up to 14 days in transit across Ireland and Europe.

No. Unlike commercial starters, these are genuine heirloom grains. With proper care, they are biologically immortal, they grow and multiply indefinitely. This single purchase provides a lifetime supply of probiotic rich water kefir for your entire household.

You likely already have everything needed: a clean glass jar, a breathable cloth cover, and a non metal strainer. Because our grains are highly active, you don’t need expensive “fermentation kits” or specialised laboratory equipment to achieve fantastic results.

This is the standard “settling period.” Water kefir grains are highly sensitive to mineral changes. It takes 2–3 batches for the grains to acclimate to your local water source. During this time, they may consume sugar slowly. By the third batch, they will effectively convert sugar into probiotics and organic acids, creating the perfect base for carbonation.
