What Are Water Kefir Grains?
Water kefir grains are translucent, gel-like clusters that form a natural polysaccharide matrix, similar in structure to the kefiran found in milk kefir grains. This matrix harbours a stable community of lactic acid bacteria, acetic acid bacteria, and beneficial yeasts that work together to ferment sugar into organic acids, carbon dioxide, and probiotic metabolites.

How to Make Water Kefir at Home
Each order contains live, active water kefir grains submerged in a mineral rich solution, ready to begin fermenting within 24 hours of arrival. No activation required. Find out more about the health benefits of kefir and what regular consumption may do for your gut.
- Yield: 50 grams of grains will produce approximately 1L of water kefir every 24–48 hours.
- Simplicity: Simply place the grains in sweetened water, cover loosely, and leave out of direct sunlight in a warm room (20°C to 22°C) for 24 hours.
